GF News Release - Specialty Packaging

General Fasteners Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Specialty Container Inc.'s Calgary and Edmonton shipping supply and stock box business. This transaction became effective as of close of business on Friday, July 18, 2008.

Specialty Containers Inc. is primarily a manufacturer of high-quality, efficient and imaginative corrugated products, but also provided their customers with a full line of packaging supplies. It is that packaging supply business, which perfectly complements GF Packaging's core competency, that GF has acquired.

The acquisition of Specialty Packaging consolidates GF Packaging's position as the leading supplier of industrial packaging, warehousing and fastening products. The newly combined company will provide customers with expanded business solutions, a vast product offering, and access to over forty years of industry experience.
